Hotel Safety Tips for Travelers and Guests

While travelling to foreign place and staying in a hotel, it is always important to take some safety risks and security tips in mind. The two highest safety hazards in hotels are burglary and fire. So, it is so vital to keep some basic safety tips in mind when traveling which could make a huge difference in keeping you safe and secure while traveling. Here are some helpful safety tips for you when travelling and staying at a hotel.

  • Always have a copy of your important documents.
  • Never leave valuables in your room or bags.
  • Always put valuables such as money, passports, jewelries in the safe.
  • Upon arrival or departure, always stay with your luggage, they could be snatched in matter of seconds.
  •  Always have the business card of the hotel with the hotel name and address in your room. Place one by the phone in your room. If there is an emergency, you would call for help, you’ll have the name and address of your location
  • Also, put your hotel’s business card in your pocket the or purse. If you have to take a cab or get lost, you can show the driver your location and avoid being taken to the wrong hotel.
  • During your stay if you ever lose your key or room entry card, report it to the hotel as soon as possible and ask to be moved to another room. You can’t assume you ‘lost’ it – it may have been stolen from you.
  • Try to avoid rooms on the lower level, they are more vulnerable to burglars, because they will have easier access through windows.
  • Further, try not to book a room on the highest level in case of a fire emergency.
  • Upon arrival to your hotel make sure to take time to check out your surroundings and get familiar with the layout of the hotel.
  • ALWAYS lock your room whether you are in it or not.
